Arrogance of Success (AoS)

Success usually is a great thing. It bring about fulfillment, confidence, certainty and pride. However, it also bring with it the pitfall and danger of being arrogant especially when the success is much awaited or has been repeated numerous times.

Success that bring about all the fulfillment, confidence, certainty and pride must also be accompanied with a sense of gratitude that will allow humbleness to be present. With this we will surely continue to learn and appreciate that our success is not only due to our own efforts but also the result of others around us.

I choose humbleness. Amin.

The end doesn’t justify the means…

We have come across this saying before “The end justifies means or The end doesn’t justify the means”; depending on which one serves you.

For me, personally I am for the later statement. The former statement opens up too many variables that can be used to justify ones actions and this is where the danger of corrupting context comes in.

I have been privy to this argument; me being at the receiving end of the justification. In my case, it was such a strong justification by the other party that it some what made theft an ok option. Granted on my part I am equally responsible by virtue of a loose agreement. This is where moral, value, ethics and integrity has a watchful eyes on us. However, sadly, watching eyes as these are taken for granted nowadays.

This topic was actually triggered by an photo of a motivator posing in front of his luxurious cars that is obviously well out of reach of maybe 80% of his audience. Posting it as a motivation is indeed a common thing. However, have we stop to wonder what subliminal message or context are we actually implanting and impregnating with such a mean? Does the end; motivating others, justifies us offering a context that is seen as the problem of this world we are in right now?

I stand in a place that will not justify my means just because of an end.

Looks simple

Making things look and feel simple is not easy.

It takes mastery to make things difficult simple. Never mistaken simplicity with less work or ideas or wisdom or understanding. In fact it requires more of all these factor.

I shall be a simple as possible so that I attain knowledge & wisdom along my journey to simplicity. Amin.

One of the best line in a movie… ever!

“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It’s not just in some of us; it’s in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.” – Marianne Williamson; Coach Carter-

Doors are a funny thing

Is a door  a way out or a way in? What is our first mode when it comes to door? What mood do we hold a door?

Yes, I know it is both. However, look deeper. What is your first reaction to doors? That could just be an insight on how we see any form of opening; an entry or an exit.

Opportunity in life is also like a door. Intellectually we know it is both an entry or an exit however what does our heart feels? What is our first reaction, intuition about it? That is what matters most. The split second response will determine we examine the opportunity in the light or mood of excitement or of caution.

Training ourself to develop a sense of balance is rather difficult; as in anything in the context of our believes. Nevertheless, just because we can’t attain it should not stop us from endeavoring towards it.

So for today, I shall continue my endeavor towards perfection even thought I know it can never be attained (or maybe that in itself is perfection!).

Yang Comel & Molek

If we want to see the ugly, we will. The same goes for beauty. There is a mix of both in everything that we experience. We don’t need the skill to sieve through this. That ability we have.

It is the ability to choose to see both and be empower by both is the skill that is much needed.

Today, I shall be inspired by both!
